Rivelyn - into Spring

On a cold March weekend, went for the first walk of (I hope) many around Rivelyn Valley, a natures paradise on the outskirts of Hillsborough.

It’s a nice and pleasant day, but with hindsight I should have made more of it, as within a few weeks we were snowed in.

The first section to walk, which is a nice circular route, makes a nice 4k walk from the first car park and back. Walking along the river, which I believe is a tributary of the Don, if not the Don itself, is a pleasant walk through the woods, with a huge number of surprises which jump out at you, from a chair sculpture in the middle of the river, to discussed buildings from the industrial days of Sheffield’s past.

Now a simple walk, which depending on if you go left or right at a certain bridge, is an easy flat walk, or a reasonable climb up and down the small hillside.

Many different trees, and wildlife to be found, as an alternative walk this is one of my favourite changes.

Plus the tea room / cafe is a resonably priced stop
