Under Falling Skies - a solo game

Fantastic solo game, complete with enough pieces and parts to keep the most needful player satisfied. The game play can be best described as a table top version of space invaders, as you use placement of dice to take actions to defend your town against the ever approaching mothership.

There are two variants to the game, a standalone version, where you fight against the mothership, with chosen towns or random set up, which provides a good hour round of play, with various methods of making changes to the difficulty of the game to find your balance of difficulty.

Once you have a good handle on the game, you can then jump into the campaign, a unique sequence of linked games with setup and scenarios in your fight against the alien invasion, which still provides the same choice of options from altering the game. Due to the dice mechanic, the replay ability is endless, and strategy must be changed on the fly if you have a hope of winning.

One of the best rounded games for solo play I’ve come across, and quick play time means you can jump into a game to pass the time, or dedicate the night to repelling the aggressors.
